INTRODUCTION
The Republic of Uzbekistan became a full fledged member of the United Nations Organization on March 2, 1992. Upon becoming a member, Uzbekistan has enjoyed recognition by the international community as an independent republic. At present, eight UN agencies operate in Uzbekistan. The aim of UN System in Uzbekistan is to assist the Government in implementing the development reforms and provide support in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. This website provides the main information of the UN System activities in Uzbekistan . You will find that the substantial part is devoted to the Millennium Development Goals and we urge you to take an opportunity and learn more on the status of MDGs in Uzbekistan. §  RCC PROPOSAL – Following the Global Fund Board decision to rate Uzbekistan’s Rolling Continuation Channel proposal as a Category 3A proposal – not recommended for funding, applicant encouraged to re-submit after revision – the Multisectoral Expert Council to Ensure Close Cooperation and Coordination with International Foreign Organizations in the Response to HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria and Mobilizing Donor Funding Activity Implementation (MEC) has decided to submit a revised proposal in RCC Wave 8. Re-submission of the application will require a major revision of the original document and a satisfactorily response to all the issues raised by the Technical Review Panel in its comment.
