INTRODUCTION
The Republic of Uzbekistan became a full fledged member of the United Nations Organization on March 2, 1992. Upon becoming a member, Uzbekistan has enjoyed recognition by the international community as an independent republic. At present, eight UN agencies operate in Uzbekistan. The aim of UN System in Uzbekistan is to assist the Government in implementing the development reforms and provide support in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. This website provides the main information of the UN System activities in Uzbekistan . You will find that the substantial part is devoted to the Millennium Development Goals and we urge you to take an opportunity and learn more on the status of MDGs in Uzbekistan. UN Resident Coordinator's Congratulatory Note on Uzbekistan's Independence Day

Celebration of International Youth Day in Uzbekistan: Dialogue and Mutual Understanding

Following the tradition that unites new generation worldwide, International Youth Day has been celebrated in Uzbekistan for the second year in a row. Events dedicated to the Day and organized jointly by Youth Initiatives Center "Kelajak Ovozi" under Fund Forum, UN Information Center (UNIC) and UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund, were held in the Youth Creativity Palace's Concert Hall in Tashkent.
